The Cultivation of Veganism - Create a World Without Animal's Cruelty

in #vegan6 years ago (edited)

Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals. Dietary vegans refrain from consuming animal products, not only meat but also eggs, dairy products (milk/cheese/butter) and other animal-derived substances.

You may ask why going Vegan? There are many benefits that you can gain from the cultivation of veganism for the animal, the environment and your body's health.

1. Showing Love For Animals
- Animals do not deserve to be killed, harmed or tortured for human's consumption. They deserve to live equally like human beings. By not eating animal's meat, you are showing a great compassion and love for animals. You are helping to prevent animals from being killed. Thus, the act of not eating animal assist in contributing to an animal cruelty-free world. This will create a more loving, caring and compassionate world for all living beings to live in.

2.  Reduce Environment Destruction
-
Going vegan brings greater environmental benefits than buying a hybrid vehicle or eschewing showers for 6 months. It takes 2,400 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef, but only 25 gallons to produce a pound of wheat. Raising animals for food uses 30 per cent of the Earth’s land mass or an area about the size of Asia. 7 football fields of land are bulldozed every minute to create more room for farmed animals. Therefore, by going vegan, ultimately you are playing a part in helping to reduce animal agriculture, lowering the carbon footprint and deforestation activity. This can help to preserve and protect the Mother Earth from being destroyed.

3. A Healthier Body
- A vegan diet can be one of the healthiest ways to live. Plant-based diets should contain plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds. Because vegan diets often rely heavily on these healthy staples, they tend to be higher in vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, and fibre. Healthy vegan diets are abundant with vitamins B1, C, and E, folic acid, magnesium, and iron while also being low in cholesterol and saturated fats. A plant-based vegan diet can reduce the risk of mortality from conditions such as [Source]

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Ischemic heart disease
  • Hypertension
  • Stroke
  • Obesity
  • Some cancers including prostate and colon cancer

4.  The Practice of humbleness & modesty
- By cultivating a vegan diet, it makes us learn to humble ourselves to think about the importance of the animal's life more than personal consumption gain. It makes an individual be humble enough to say no to animal's consumption and against animal's killing.

Of course, I'm not asking you to straight away become a vegan. At the end of the day, the choice is entirely up to you to choose whether you want to become a partial vegan or full vegan. Some people might want to try out becoming a vegetarian first to see how it goes with their body before going to a vegan. Some people might be thinking to cultivate vegan on a few days basis in a week. That's fine as well.

Whatever your decision is, by going vegan or vegetarian just for a short period or long period, you already play an important part in saving many innocent animals, preventing animal's cruelty, reducing the carbon footprint and ultimately improving your body's health as well. Therefore, it will benefit the animal, environment and yourself. As a result of this, helping to create a compassionate and animal cruelty-free world.

Lastly, I would like to end by sharing this video called "Dominion" with you.

Although I'm not very good at it, the days I do successfully stay vegan I feel a lot better than others.

I love your passion for life and love, brother! Thank you for sharing what is in your heart. I too, feel the same way, and I am doing my best to follow a more whole foods plant-based diet. Everyone is different and should follow intuitively what their body needs, and I know I seem to do well without animal products or dairy. I'm glad when people choose health and the wellbeing of this planet and all of its creation over their own desires.

Veganism is a very healthy lifestyle choice!
