Energospiritual Diet- Yogic Diet- Ayurveda Diet- An introduction

in #vegan7 years ago

I got introduced to the Yogic diet by this group of people that want to open up a vegan snack bar in Cyprus.
I joined them, and they taught me a lot about the way they like to eat. Also called the Energo-Spiritual Diet or Ayurveda Diet, originating from India.

Keep in mind that i have been eating a raw vegan diet for some time now, and this one i have found to be very similar in the philosophy of it.

So i will give you all i know about the Yogic diet and you can take what you like!

Energospiritual Diet is a spiritual system that uses food as a tool for our mental development. The main goal is to use the ancient wisdom of the yogis combined with the new discoveries about food, for mind clarity, meditation and maximum vitality.

This is a vegan diet and it consists of around 40% raw and 60% cooked food.
Yoga and ayurveda has 3 categories of food: Rajasic(aggressive)/ tamasic(dull)/satvic(balanced). We eat mostly satvic food.

No white sugar.

No sweeteners.

No artificial, processed food.

No leftovers from yesterday, no frozen food, no overcooked food.

No animal products.

No pasteurized vegan milk.

THE FOOD HAS TO BE ALIVE

Legumes, nuts, seeds and grains are soaked and sprouted before preparing the food.
This way the phytic acid and enzyme inhibidors are neutralized.

THE FOOD HAS TO BE TUNED

This means local food, food in season, considering if the weather is warm or cold.

** Use the 4 spices for better digestion: CHILI+TURMERIC+CUMIN+MUSTARD SEEDS** these give the enzymes

And the final advice, the toughest one..

EAT ONLY WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY.
Appetite is a mental condition, hunger is health.
