Strawberry Beet Smoothie Recipe

in #vegan7 years ago

We are SO excited to share this amazing smoothie with you all! No matter what happens, my smoothies always turn out to be green smoothies so it is really fun to switch up the colors to get your breakfast exciting again. Oh. My. Gaaaah. This smoothie made us so happy to eat and fun fact, sharing with someone amazing like @Tehrene from Eat + Moove makes it that much more special! We have become extra busy but working together on new projects that we are both passionate about makes it so worth the time.

I love starting the day with loads of fruit since I have cut out my caffeine intake. The glucose from the fruit really wakes me up with lasting energy throughout the morning until snack time rolls around.

  • 2 whole Bananas cut and frozen
  • 4 whole Strawberries
  • .5 cup Papaya
  • .5 container Kite Hill Vegan Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Beet Powder
  • .5 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • .5 tbsp Ground Flax Seeds
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk less for thicker smoothies
  • .5 tbsp Maca Powder - optional
  • 1 tbsp 100% Pure Maple Syrup - optional
  1. Place cut bananas, papaya, and all other ingredients into blender. I like to add the chia seeds and flax seeds just before blending so they do not get too sticky.
  2. Add almond milk and place on high blend until smooth. Add more almond milk if the smoothie is too thick for you. For smoothie bowls, thicker smoothies do best to help keep your toppings afloat!
  3. We also used papaya as our bowls so if you are as well, cut papaya in half (lengthwise) and scoop out seeds. Carve out any extra papaya and save for another time or use as topping for smoothie bowl!
  4. Once complete, pour smoothie into the bowls and decorate how you like it.

My kind of recipe. Love the serving in papaya idea... got some papayas growing in the garden right now. Can't wait till harvest time. Steem on and welcome to the steemit family!

Thank you <3 I am so happy to join the fun!
