Hello readers, I support Veil and I bring updated information about Veil. This is a retinue of my previous blogs about Veil. On my today's edition, I will talk about the recent updates and changes which happened on Veil wallets.
What makes a project unique is the activeness and responsibility of the team towards the project. Veil team is outstanding. They want the successes of Veil hence, they ain't sleeping on it. Recently, veil users complained on the wallet taking more time than expected to load and some the inability to access their wallets for some time.

Here is how it works;Every user is mandated to update from the other version of Veil wallet to the newer version.To update from an older wallet version to wallet v1.0.3.0, Every user is required to follow these basic and simple guidelines below:

First things first: Close your wallet.
Then uninstall the previous wallet and Download wallet v1.0.3.0 for your operating system be it Mac or IOS. Install as normal.
Go to your Veil data directory and DELETE ONLY THESE FILES:

banlist.dat
fee_estimates.dat
mempool.dat
peers.dat
Once these is done, then proceed to:

Open your new wallet v1.0.3.0 and allow it to finish syncing. Note: Allow it to finish synchronizing and don't close the tab. But if;
If the wallet is shutting down by itself during synchronization, close your wallet and repeat Step 3.

However, if you are encountering a popup error upon opening the Veil wallet ("Assertion failed!"), it is only needful to try restarting the wallet 3 times. If this does not work, you will need to either sync from scratch. We recommend using a snapshot to make the process faster.

HOW TO USE VEIL SNAPSHOT

To use veil snapshot, Please follow these steps below:

Download the latest snapshot. (~10 GB file)
Close your wallet.
Go to your Veil data directory and delete everything EXCEPT for the following. DO NOT DELETE THE FOLLOWING:

backups folder
wallets folder (if you have it)
wallet.dat
veil.conf

Extract the contents of the downloaded snapshot to your Veil data directory.
Start your wallet.

Once these is in place, you are good to go. Need I remind you that you can do a host of things and benefits on the Veil wallet such as:
