In some moments it has happened to us that we do not remember something that we just said or think and we do not know the reason for it. However, it is possible to identify the cause and reduce the frequency of this happening.

It is determined that the learning process is carried out in different phases and it is important to know in which there is some deficiency that may cause these oversights.

The first is the retention phase of the new information; in this phase it is possible that we do not pay enough attention or that we do not have the necessary motivation and interest to retain.

In the second phase, that of consolidation, problems can appears in the brain areas that do not allow us to record the information.

However, in a third possible phase it could happen that an evocation disorder appears, because although we have paid attention to the information and it is consolidated, later we have trouble recovering it due to brain problems.

Factors involved in forgetting

The most common factors involved in this process of forgetting may be stress and fatigue, since especially in the first phase of retention decrease our attention capacity. Besides them, the state of mind can also influence, because if we focus on our internal thoughts we will pay less attention and we will have difficulty concentrating. Another important factor is the type of food that we have, can mainly influence the second phase of consolidation.

What can we do to reduce the frequency of forgetfulness?

Definitely, it is important to have a good diet, in addition to exercising our brain with simple exercises of memory or daily readings that allow us to keep the brain strengthened and trained.
