RE: Venezuela seizes a General Motors plant amid anti-government protests

I'm surprised that WaPo would even report on tyrannical actions taken by a socialist government. It is also amazing to me that they want to return to democratic rule. Democracy is what allowed them to vote in the socialists to begin with.

Sort:

I know I cringe every time I hear democracy used in a sentence about freedom because it's just another form of socialism.

I heard an interview with an author in the early 2000's, who wrote a book on the atrocities committed in the name of communism and democracy. It was the first time I had heard anyone comment negatively on democracy. It stuck in my head.

That's why we have a constitutional republic, so the majority can't vote away our rights and barbecue babies on the white house lawn, because it's popular this year. Democracy is not just socialism. It is whatever crock of sh*t that the majority can be persuaded to believe. One half of the people in America have an IQ of less than 98. This is one of the most terrifying facts of which I am aware. This, when coupled with democracy, becomes unmitigated horror, every time.

I think I will add one more damning IQ fact that will only still you more in your resolve of defending natural rights:
Search Cop IQ limits.

Yeah, I knew about that. The highly, and even moderately, intelligent question orders too much. Law enforcement is the domain of push button robots. It has been a curious thing to me, for a while, that the people tasked with enforcing the laws, do not have degrees in law. It is the same as someone with no knowledge of football, being a referee.

Every time people argue that a group of people can have powers and rights that no individual can have, such as making laws or taxing others, I cringe.
