The history of shaolin kung fu and its arrival in veneuela

in #venezuela7 years ago (edited)

In the year 527 a / c, a monk named Bodhidharma (meaning "close to enlightenment") arrives at a monastery called Shaolin (meaning "young forest") in Henan province, in Dengfeng county (China). He realizes that the monks who were in the temple were in very bad physical condition, which prevented them from correctly practicing meditation. He decided to give them notions of hygiene and then retired to the mountain to meditate and find a solution to the problem of the shaolin temple.

For 10 years he meditated on the mountain and later found the solution for the problem of the monks of the temple. During his stay in the mountain I create two texts known as "The change of muscle-tendon" and "Washing of medulla-brain" along with 18 exercises to keep their bodies in good health and to be able to meditate properly. From that moment the Shaolin Kung Fu was born and Bodhidharma became the patriarch of this martial art (the word kung fu means "to do well")
Today, the first Shaolin temple still exists in China and opens its doors for visitors and people who are interested in learning this noble art full of discipline, strength and perseverance based on humility and respect.

In 1979, the Shaolin Kung Fu is brought to Venezuela by the first Latin American monk named Walter Zuazo (also known as "shi heng yi" during his stay in the Shaolin Temple in China) being Caracas the place of his arrival in Venezuela where he later created the first shaolin temple in Venezuela
