MY EXPERIENCE
Venice was on top of my list of places to visit and it's now on the top of my favourite places I have been to.
I think arriving by train and opening the doors of Santa Lucia station to put my eyes on the canal made my trip. It was like arriving to another world. You will not find a place like Venice anywhere in the world! That's for sure.
Visit Venice during Carnival and you will make the trip extra special!

Is the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. Is one of the most alluring cities in the world—the type of place where, as a visitor, you'll welcome getting lost (as you inevitably will).
Venice is unique. For as much you can travel you will not find a place that you could even start comparing with this beautiful city.
