It is called "Live It Up" and is the theme of Russia 2018.

FIFA unveiled the official song of the upcoming World Cup, played by Nicky Jam, in collaboration with actor Will Smith and singer Efra Istrefi.

And the Latin influence of Nicky Jam, of Puerto Rican father and Dominican mother, is felt in the rhythm and in the lyrics, with some verses in Spanish.

"Ya empezó la rumba y estamos celebrando. Todo el mundo que me levante la mano. Estamos vivos, hay que disfrutarlo. Hoy nadie me detiene porque yo no sé parar".

For Nicky Jam, interpreting this globalist theme is a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience.

"There are not many artists who have the privilege to say they have been part of this, I am proud and happy, someday I will tell my grandchildren that I was one of them," Nicky Jam told the FIFA website.

Will Smith said: "This project supposes a fusion of harmonies, eclectic flavors and musical genres, in short, we want to see the world dancing".

Efra Istrefi, originally from Kosovo, is a well-known pop singer in Russia and joined the Americans to make this song, directed by the producer and composer Diplo.

"Working with artists such as Diplo, Will Smith and Nick Jam, whom I deeply admire, is fantastic and very funny," Istrefi said.

The tradition of recording an official World Cup theme began in England in 1966, where the first World Cup mascot, the lion Willie, also appeared.

The last two World Cups have had Latin artists as the main interpreters of their official themes.

In Brazil 2014 Pitbull was with Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte singing "We Are One, Ole Ola", while in South Africa 2010 Shakiraquien interpreted "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)".

The Russia 2018 World Cup kicks off on June 14.
