Back in'Nam...

in #vietnam7 years ago

Back in March my mom, boyfriend and I went on a 3 week trip to Vietnam. It was a delight, I highly recommend visiting if you ever get the chance! Being 75% Vietnamese and with both of my parents being raised in Vietnam I actually speak Vietnamese quite well, which to my surprise wasn't needed as much as I thought! My boyfriend, who speaks no Vietnamese whatsoever, found his way around very easy.

So I figure not a lot of people like to read paragraphs of stuff (I may be wrong) plus pictures are worth a thousand words any so I figured I would write one short paragraph an overview and let the pictures do the rest.

We flew from Hawaii to Da Nang with a lay over in Korea. Sadly we didn't get to see any of Korea but hopefully in the near future I can change that statement. From Da Nang we went to Hoi An then to Hue and finished off in Ha Noi. Vietnam is very interesting in many ways for instance you can smoke cigarettes anywhere and everywhere, even in restaurants while your eating. I swear I never saw a trash can/waste basket anywhere haha. And the food is amazing and cheap! What more could you ask for?!

Dennis and I waiting to board the plane! We flew with asiana air, a Korean airlines. The seat were pretty comfortable and the food was pretty good! I would fly with them again.

First adventure in Da Nang! We went up a huge mountain in a cable car to a old French influence village called Ba Na Hills.

Exploring the city of Da Nang! City lights while we were driving around. The famous dragon bridge they have, the lights on the dragon changes to every color of rainbow! A pet cafe that we went to, they had dogs, puppies and a few cats.

Right outside of Da Nang: Marble mountain, a beautiful little hike where you go inside mountains that are made of natural jade and marble. They also have scalped temples in the middle of the mountains!

Hoi An night market! So much to buy and eat!!!! And then relax on a canoe ride right in the heart of there market! On the canoe ride you get a nice view of the center of the market and very nice sculptures.

In Hue we went ride around the city in citlodat (taxi bicycles)! And visited the citadel and one of the former empire's (Ho Chi Minh's) castle. We went on a short entertainment cruise ride. Where the workers dress in traditional Vietnamese attire and perform Vietnamese folk song for you. And we ate at a place that serves food the same why the used to serve food to the royal families during parties.

And finally we made it all the way up north to Ha Noi where we went to Sapa mountains where there are rice fields for acres and traditional mung tribes. And Ha Long Bay, where one of the Vietnamese fishing village is still present and beautiful untouched views.

Hi! Wow nice views in Vietnam. Yeah food in Vietnam is cheap and yummy as I also work there for almost 5 years in garment. And also lot of travel , sometimes in Hanoi as we have placed orders in some factories there. Nice tour , but try to visit also some nice attraction near Ho Chi Minh like Mekong river. It's beautifull..
