One of the bloodiest battles of the unnecessary war known as the Vietnam war, this battle saw some 450 South Vietnamese (anti-communist) soldiers die, with over 2,000 wounded. The U.S. military lost over 200 soldiers, with 1,500 more wounded. The Gulf of Tonkin incident is what sparked this entire war, what's now declassified as a false flag operation which sparked this conflict to begin with.
