Violence, Aggression, Passion
Violence and aggression, the ebb and flow of testosterone through the body which seems to accumulate just beneath the chest, below the ribs, above the heart. I do not see these as negative traits, in fact I embrace them as a beautiful aspect of masculinity. Being masculine is not being violent or aggressive, it is not confidence, it is not how good you look in a pair of cowboy boots, and it is not how good you fuck. Neither do these traits make a good man. It is my opinion that masculinity, being a good man, is the ability to temper, restrain, control, to use aggression as a tool, master the body and bring the mind under submission of reason, further knowing when reason is no longer sufficient, falling back to the primal force of passion in its stead.
Passion, acting on instinctual desire, strength, ability, the mind submitting to the heart. Passion requires trust and respect. In the absence of respect passion is simply recklessness. I’ve spoken of balance, there is balance in this as well. There is a give and take, a synergy between two people, pushing and pulling on the emotional/physical energy between them. Without balance there is only noise, nothing can be clearly made out or acted on, noise creates fear, fear dissolves trust. With balance, independently two people feed on one another, they amplify passion, desire, strength. There is an exponential force, they become that force feeling and experiencing one another both physically and intellectually. The heart speeds up, breath becomes shallow, adrenalin flows freely intoxicating the senses. This can be triggered by a touch, a word, a thought… it is something I crave, something that demands the right partner to exist.
When masculine energy is harnessed into passion, or love, or skills - it's wonderful. Violence is a waste of it I think
