The Guide To Not Getting Scammed Part 1 by @sirlunchthehost

The Name Game

1.Becareful of the name game. People are starting to Pose as your favorite STEEMIAN / Whale Investor to scam you out of STEEM & SBD.
2.First thing the Scammer does is makes a name Similar to a Well known Steemian on Discord or Steemit.chat
3.Then they make a fake name that looks damn close to the real name. Example:
sirlunchthehost - Real
sirlunchtheh0st - Fake
4.The reason why some poeple fall for this trap is A: They are overly excited to be greeted by whom they think is someone. The scammer uses this shock value to pull the wool over the victims eyes. Usually the scammer says something like: "Send me 10 Steem and I'll resteem or upvote @ 100%"

ALWAYS CHECK THE SPELLING OF A NAME AGAINST STEEMIT.COM Account name. This is just one way you can verify.
A Second way to verify is by using voice chat
And another simple way to verify is by sending them a messege via Steemit.com

Phishy Links

1.Always Check the Name of the LINK. MAKE SURE ITS THE CORRECT SPELLING!
2.Don't click links floating in a Discord chat / Don't click links from someone you don't fully trust!
3.Always make sure you see 2017-10-24_16-19-11.png when going to websites.
Only use Websites you are familiar with.

Password Phishing.

1.Never give out your MASTER KEY or any KEY!!!!!
2.Remember when you signed up, STEEMIT INC said to never give those keys out. That also includes, but not limited to;
-Trails.
-2nd or 3rd party site that needs keys for a basic or cool functions.
3.All your keys are Special, so treat them like it.

There has been a recent influx is Account "Hacks" and things of this nature. The first thing you have to consider is if you gave our your keys to a Website you might have trusted.

Scammers & Online Bullies

If it sounds too good to be true, then it is. Don't risk reputation for reward!
Also, you don't owe anyone shit! Don't let people manipulate your emotions to get PW's or crypto out of you. A real friend would just ask for help, not for keys.

F.O.M.O. Fear Of Missing Out

Fear Of Missing Out can often lead to you or someone you know getting scammed. Scammers prey on the newbies whom feel like they have missed something and looking for the next great crypto train. DON'T FEAR. Treat missing out like everything else you miss out on.

Always Research the Project and the team behind it.

Do the diligence and look up the teams.

Great Projects that sometimes come with Great Cost.

Almost everyday STEEMIT.COM see's new Projects hit the chain asking for a multitude of things. Its always so exciting to embrace a new project thats going to bring convience to our everyday lives, but we must remember to keep safe. Apps that ask for your Master Key should not be used. The teams of these apps should know how important private keys are. The Best Security for Keeping Account Keys Safe is not keeping them at all. Thumbs up

Don't be lazy.

Take the time to NOT BACK YOUR PASSWORDS on a digital device. It only takes 5 minutes or less to copy down your password & store it.
Remember to always properly store and protect your keys.
Even if its your husband or wife, don't give out your keys. Divorce happens & when it does, your going to need that STEEM & SBD.

2.STEEM POWER is the non liquid version. STEEM POWER determines how much VOTING POWER you have on the STEEMIT Platform.
3.STEEM BACKED DOLLARS ( SBD ) is a Asset pegged to the US Dollar. laughs It happens sometimes. Okay well alot of the time.

Posting key is fine to use to log into 3rd party sites. Otherwise we could only use steemit.com and that wasn't the intent for the blockchain because that would make it centralised in a sense.

For example, steemit inc prevents minnows from flagging at 100%. All of their upvotes are at 100%, but when flagging on steemit.com (and I think busy.org implemented this too) you cannot flag at 100%. So actually third party sites could be better. Just don't give any key other than posting key, and when giving out posting key, always check the t&c to make sure you're not giving permission to post or vote with your account.

how do you get 62 votes and only 21 views including me?
:O

omg!
there are so many craps present outside there, whose are looking for stealing cryptos by just uploading the fake things which looks almost similar to the real one.
Must be careful regarding to this, otherwise we lost everyting.
