  1. Operate
    Don't operate machinery when in extremes of grief or joy.
  2. Cooperation
    You'll need the cooperation of the bank or the mob, if you want a loan.
  3. Inoperable
    Failure to repay either loan results in losing an arm and a leg. "Both are inoperable," the doctor swears.
  4. Modus operandi
    I'm just reporting their modus operandi, don't shoot the messenger.

I recommend dealing with the mob. It's much safer than dealing with banksters!

It's a crazy kind of world when the mob is the lesser of two evils. You're right about that last part. They're upfront about that arm and leg clause. HA

MY VOCAB PRACTICE

  1. Peter will operate the tractor so Jane and I can ride the wagon and pick produce.
  2. With the cooperation of the 3 of us we should be able to get the whole field of pumpkins picked today.
  3. The tractor has no fuel left and will be inoperable until we can get some more fuel.
  4. We added fuel to the tractor and it is still not running, let's check the manual for the modus operandi.
