  1. Sympathy
    Emotional arguments play on the sympathies of the audience.
  2. Compassion
    You don't have to like some one to feel compassion for them.
  3. Antipathy
    The antipathy of disillusioned voters was apparent in low turn out.
  4. Patient
    To accomplish long term goals, one must be patient.
  5. Patient
    Are you still a patient if you receive non-standard medical treatment?
  6. Pathetic
    The puppy's pathetic expression won it many treats.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. People tend to have no sympathy for people accused of engaging in sexual violence.
  2. Which is peculiar, because we tend to have compassion for even the most brutal murderers.
  3. People who reject such double standard often develop s degree of antipathy towards the society.
  4. In criminal justice it is vital to remain pacient and never jump to conclusion.
  5. Pacients are being overprescribed painkillers while alternatives are being cracked down on.
  6. It is pathetic that so many people are not willing to stand up to very the vocal minority.

  1. After Anthony's father died, I stopped by to offer my sympathy.
  2. I showed compassion for the wasp and put it outside instead of killing it.
  3. Clark has antipathy to the neighbor's dog because it barks all night.

  5. The patient forgot her wallet at the Dr.'s office so they had to come back and retrieve it.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. Patient.
    She was a patient undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment at the hospital under the care of her oncologists.

  2. Pathetic.
    It made her feeling confused and pathetic to have been diagnosed and treated with such ailment which she never thought and imagined could happen to her.

  3. Antipathy.
    And having diagnosed of the disease, it was normal for her to grieve and to feel antipathy for it.

  4. Patient.
    Nevertheless, she was very patient, hopeful, and optimistic that her treatment will cure her of the horrible malignant disease.

  5. Compassion.
    During this dark moment of her life she fervently prayed and reached out to God to give her solace and compassion.

  6. Sympathy.
    Coming out victorious as a survivor, she can now relate and has sympathy to those who have gone or experienced this horrible disease.
