BTCC votes done many times already :) Thanks for reminding us!
To the question: Why do we vote, or do not vote?
Although voting is not mandatory, I believe voting is a method to create interactivity. Although best to vote with a comment, since comments creates THE trigger for response! Especially here on Steemit.
In general elections (politics I mean), the response is not direct, and may not be indirect as well. Last general elections in The Netherlands we managed far over 80% (81,9% to be exact) of the people allowed to vote, to go outside their house to their local vote corner and cast their vote. I was pretty pleased about this figure. And although the Dutch Trump and his party got quite a few votes, I was even more pleased when the majority of the votes went into the directions of other more quality parties.
Anyways, to vote here on Steemit (or BTCC for that matter) is sooooo super non time consuming, it is just 1 click of the mouse and done! How easy! And no rules for voting as well, just click those post and comment you like; How cool is that. For those who question culture around Steemit voting, maybe this post is interesting to read (here). Happy voting everybody! And for every vote...
