All steam ahead at Vertcoin!
Welcome
Hello dear reader, and welcome to the second post of my new blog about all things VTC. I was overwhelmed with the support of my first post, so, encouraged, I have decided to write another. This week, I want to focus on some of the recent developments surrounding the coin and delve into what has been going on in the Reddit page. First of all, there are too major pieces of news to talk about this week: the listing of VTC on both the UK based Bitclude exchange; and, the listing on India’s very own InstaCrypto exchange.
Exchanges
Launching today (01/02/18), Bitclude finally brings VTC users the ability to purchase our beloved coin directly with fiat currencies. This is a fantastic step that works toward our ultimate goal of removing VTCs reliance on the BTC pairing. Bitclude are a relatively new exchange, having only launched themselves in September 2017. However, they appear to be going from strength to strength thanks to their beautiful user interface and low transaction fees. This listing was a real boon for VTC, as it was the community themselves who won the right to be listed in a recent vote held on Bitcludes Twitter feed.
Admittedly, less is known by this author about India’s InstaCrypto exchange, and this listing came pretty much out of the blue. There can be no harm in seeing VTC launch in this large market – remember that India has a population of approximately 1.3 billion people! VTC forms part of a pretty limited portfolio offered by InstaCrypto, joining the ranks with BTC,LTC,BCH and ETH. This can only help to raise the profile of our beloved VTC in this large and beautiful country.
Even if you would have liked to, it has not been easy to get your hands on the people’s coin recently. Hopefully the launch of these exchanges as well as seeing that Bitrex are beginning to accept new users again should get the trading volume back to where it should be. Of course, we still have both the launch of Vertpig and Vertbase to look forward to also. Good times.
Vertcoin Development
In other news, the Vertcoin development team will be hosting an AMA this Saturday (03/02/18) on our Reddit page. As we all know, our development team is incredibly open and will be happy to answer all your questions, and hopefully address any concerns about the coin that you may have. This really is a fantastic opportunity to have your voice heard and learn more about the future plans of VTC as we gather momentum in 2018.
Elsewhere, the official Twitter page announced the formation of a new marketing team, an update on the new website design and hinted about the upcoming launch of the LIT lightning network! All three of these announcements really demonstrate how the coin and its development is really professionalising. Having a dedicated market team can only release the pressure on the devs and allow them to spend more time working on the technical side of the coins development. The announcement about the LIT network is intriguing, and we await more detailed information in the near future. A new logo was also included in the post and hinted at a fresh and modern image for the coin moving forward.
The Reddit Page
I intend to include a little piece in each blog about all things going on in the reddit page. This is where I spend a lot of my time and I believe it to be a good measure of sentiment surrounding the coin. Finally, the persons that bought VTC at the ATH seem to have given up on their FUD campaign and have retreated to their shitcoin caves. The mood is generally positive, and many interesting debates and conversations are taking place. With all the good news that has come in this week there is plenty to discuss and look forward to. Perhaps it is true the general activity on the page has dropped a little, but the discussion is more focussed and positive so its generally a much nicer place to be right now. As this coin takes off, it will be up to us heavy users and the MOD team to ensure that discussion stays relevant and does not return to the ‘mooning’ bollocks like late last year.
And, finally….
If you are still here, then thank you very much for reading this second post of mine. I am enjoying these, and if the readership keeps growing I will keep writing. Remember, VTC relies on its community more than ant other coin out there and your support is very much appreciated. If you are new to VTC, I encourage you to follow some of the links below and find out a bit more about us. Why not jump onto the Discord or come say hello on Reddit? We are all happy to assist you with your questions and help you to get started on your VTC journey. If you are wondering how you can support VTC, please sign up for Bitclude and buy a couple of coins if you can afford to.
If you would like to support this blog, I would very much welcome donations to the following address if you can spare a bit of VTC:

Until next time Vertans!
P.S I just want to give a shout out to VTC Market who are producing and selling a fantastic range of VTC merchandise. Amazingly, these guys are donating 50% of all of their profits to the VTC development team. I don’t know the guys personally, but I know that they are from my home city so they must be pretty cool.
