WEDDINGS AND FUNDRAISING.

And please do not get me wrong.
I love helping. A lot. Whenever I am in a position to. But some other times I refuse to help even when I can. This is why. You see, weddings are overrated. I am a girl and don't be lied to. Every girl wants a glamorous wedding at some point in life. It doesn't often happen though. And that is totally fine. Not all dreams come true anyway.
On the other hand, Why would someone gather people in a whatsApp group or where ever to ask for a fundraising for a wedding? Wedding is a luxury. It's like asking a fundraising for a trip to Paris, the city of love. Fundraising for a vacation. Fundraising to go and have a blast. really? It is not an emergency people. You do not wake up one day, meet a girl and violaa! Wedding! I am not a wedding planner and I have never had a wedding, but I want to believe that it does not work like that. It involves a lot of planning and preparation and above all, lots of saving. Yes, I have read blogs and I have had friends who have had weddings before. So I know.
If you are planning to have a wedding, you have your whole life to start preparing for it. People have bigger problems to ask a fundraising for. Hospital bills, Pending school fees, Children's homes to support and such. Or better still, just start your family and have a wedding later when you can. Also, you can plan a wedding that is within your budget. It doesn't have to be all expensive, glamorous and everything nice. What matters are the two hearts. It is just a ceremony.
Do not nag people around you to help you finance a wedding. They do not want to. People hate doing that but they will never say it. If your family willingly offers to help that is okay, but no one should be obliged directly or indirectly to fund raise for a wedding. It is not fair.
If you still decide to fund raise for a wedding it is still fine, just do people an honor of notifying them before adding them to those whatsApp groups.
