UNVEILING BABY OMEN

in #wafrica6 years ago

One fateful morning, I received a phone call from one of my supporters from Udung Ukpo village, Urueoffong/Oruko Ward 10.
I was completely taken aback by the message I received from the caller. "... my wife just delivered a baby boy. While she was pregnant, I decided that if the baby is male, he would be named Omen, after you".

I can't recall what my reaction was because the message was totally unexpected. Of course,I never considered myself worthy of such honour at this stage of my existence. I didn't even know which supporter was speaking because by God's grace, I enjoy tremendous goodwill in that village and Ward.
Unfortunately, it happened when we were neck deep in our Party's Congresses. So, I couldn't pay my namesake a prompt visit

You can imagine how excited I was when his parents accosted me today at the venue of the inauguration of Progressive Women's Forum, Urueoffong/Oruko Chapter to inform me that my namesake was around.
A very handsome, healthy and lively child.

I thank God and his parents for this rare honour. In Oro, one of the biggest honours a man can accord you is naming his child after you, especially when you aren't an elderly family member.
More so, the name OMEN is still unique and somewhat monopolized by me.
To God be the glory in Jesus' Name.FB_IMG_15330984875591286.jpg
