Artistic Works In The University Of Port-Harcourt

Good day to you steemians, I welcome you to my new edition called Monday Artifacts where I will take you on a tour to the Unique University of Port-Harcourt.
Before we start the Monday Artifacts, I would like to say a big thank you @schamangerbert @curx @zapncrap @lastditch @hansdickson @social and @dmition for their upvotes on my Traditional friday post. Finally let's go into today's business.

Brief History on the University of Port-Harcourt

The prestigious University was founded in 1975 and it is situated in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Eastern Nigeria. It has well over 50,000 student and 10 academic faculties. More so, it is a second generation federal university in the Niger Delta with academic concentration on arts, sciences, management and engineering. Under the administration of the Former Vice Chancellor, Professor Nimi Briggs, UNIPORT recently reached a milestone by being the first university to train the first set of Nuclear Engineers in Nigeria. In addition, the academic institution is also a force to reckon with amongst the Association of Commonwealth Universities(ACU), Association of African University(AAU) and has a teaching hospital for medicine students to practice what they have learnt.

My Observations At The Art Museum

Today I was puzzled by what to post on steemit for my dear followers, so I began to think every hard until I came up with the brilliant idea to showcase the artistic works in the art museum of my school.
Then I went along with my buddy Samuel @samostically to explore the beauty of art and show it to steemians. On our journey, the first thing we came across was a statue illustrating our school's motto which says:

for enlightment and self reliance.

Here is a visual display of the statue

Furthermore, it was quite difficult for me to just leave the vicinity without checking out other artifacts, then I stumbled across other art work that caught my attention. It was a solider with a loaded gun and ready for battle, which reminds me of the civil war that happened in Nigeria as at 6th July 1967 to 15th January 1970

Conclusion

The experience and knowledge I gain today from the art museum is quite helpful and interesting. It made it possible for me to trace my history and understand what happened in my country during the era when I was a child. Thanks for accompanying me on this tour to the University of Port Harcourt Nigeria Art Museum. Stay tuned and see you on the next edition.
