Green wicket and wet weather made heaven for pacers. They avenged it well. The first day costs 14 wickets and the pacers picked 12 of them.

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to field first. Pacers make appropriate Captain Dinesh Chandimal decision. Especially Pacer Suranga Lakmal, he picked 5 wickets with 2.84 economies.

End of the day team Sri Lanka isn’t in a vintage. Because they lost 4 wickets by 88 runs in 32 overs. They are trailed by 90 runs. Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Kumara picked 8 wickets.

New Zealand could be all out by hundred. Lower order batsman Tim Southee scored 68 from 65 balls. He picked fifty for the first time. When he gave a catch to Gunathilaka from Dilruwan Perera delivery, then score was 172-7. He made a partnership with BJ Watling (46) of 108 runs and proved he knows to bat well.

On the other hand, Tim Southee picked 3 wickets of 4 and made his day. He showed the way of the pavilion to three top orders by 21 runs. Another is for Collin De grandHome. Angelo Mathews (27) and Roshan De Silva (15) are getting over the disaster.

As Pacers made their day. Hope batsmen will come back in the second day and gift us a competitive test match in Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
