Music of the Storm

in #wafrica5 years ago

There is a legend that recounts a German noble who, at his manor on the Rhine, extended wires from pinnacle to tower, that the breezes may change over them into an Aeolian harp. Furthermore, the delicate breezes played about the stronghold, however no music was conceived.

Be that as it may, one night there emerged an extraordinary storm, and slope and château were stricken by the fierceness of the forceful breezes. The aristocrat went to the limit to watch out upon the dread of the tempest, and the Aeolian harp was filling the air with strains that rang out even over the clatter of the whirlwind. It required the storm to draw out the music!

Furthermore, have we not known men whose lives have not given out any spellbinding music in the day of a quiet flourishing, however who, when the storm drove against them have bewildered their colleagues by the power and quality of their music?

“Flowers, flowers,
Upspringing after showers,
Blossoming fresh and fair,
Everywhere!
Ah, God has explained
Why it rained!”

You can always count on God to make the “afterward” of difficulties, if rightly overcome, a thousand times richer and fairer than the forward. “No chastening . . . seemeth joyous, nevertheless afterward . . .” What a yield.

Hebrews 12:11 KJV
Now no chastening q for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised r thereby.
