Effective Waste Disposal and Recycling

in #waste5 years ago (edited)

The problem of waste disposal has arises since a very long time. But does everyone show enough interest to do the needful or does everyone even know what they should know about waste and it's disposal.

Let's get started with this very basic fact that on an average about 2.01 billion metric tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) are produced annually worldwide as per https://www.wastedive.com

How did that sound like ? A Huge quantity right ?
But the immediate question will next be what's our responsibility then ?
When we dispose our waste every day we just throw all of it in a bin, go and throw it out on the larger dustbin provided by the municipality. We think we do our part of cleaning our homes that way. But have you ever thought that the waste you dispose contains both biodegradable and the non biodegradable ones.

Your waste can be reduced to absolutely half the quantity if you make 2 dustbins at your home for 2 different purposes.
The 1st one will contain all the kitchen/garden waste that will be put in a pit in the garden on regular basis and covering that pit after it gets full will give you an amazing place to grow some veges or fruits at your own house. This 1st solution will reduce your garbage by one-third.
The 2nd one will contain all the paper and plastic waste that you will dispose. This waste can be properly disposed and reused if you call for any agency that recycles these. In this way your garbage will get properly disposed without contributing to the disposal at the larger municipality bins near you.

But handling these primary waste disposal issues got solved this way. But what about the E-Waste and Radioactive Waste that is getting generated too.
Dumping them openly is obviously not advisable and dumping them underground will be a major threat to the underground water. So what can be the solution to this ? This question is on your part to find !
