maharashtra govt. made it clear that the strict action will be taken against manufacturers in view of the ban on plastic to be in force from Saturday means today
The state government has fixed up fine for carrying plastic items. The penalty for the first time, second time and third time offenders will be Rs 5000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 25000 plus a jail term for three months respectively.
As per the data with the environment department, around 1200 tonnes of plastic is generated in Maharashtra every day. The government has claimed that it has imposed ban on plastic after studying situation in six other states.
