RE: More info on "Water Zero" in Cape Town, SA

in #waterzero7 years ago (edited)

cronyism aka cadreship is the politics that addresses the needs of the party to stay in power - so they haven't seen the need to do much else

recent report suggests that Lesotho will soon face a water crisis too. A national approach ought to now be in place for power and water. I believe it is a shortage but not one that was unavoidable.

Cronyism can not address a problem that requires vision.

The success of ESKOM under Apartheid is best categorized under inventions born out of the mother of necessity some of them worked others did not survive changes in political stage (eg. SASOL petrol from coal). The apartheid regime was propped firmly in place by the same types of cronyism as we see today. The nonsense has simply changed hands and the new cronies are keeping th e old in place - one just needs to google the word "steinhoff" to see how true that is.

Cronyism is a disease of parasites with one hand washing (or is that kissing or scratching) the other's back ;-)
