Wayback Wednesday - "Beast of Burden" by The Rolling Stones
Today's #waybackwednesday has EXTREME sentimental value. The song was chosen for a particular reason and just typing this is about to bring me to tears. So, without getting into those details in this post, let's talk about this particular song.
This song was released in 1978 by the one and only The Rolling Stones. It's sentiment to me held so much value yesterday that I could barely concentrate. Let's take a listen to the song, shall we?
And, according to Keith Richards himself, the song is not entirely about a woman. It's partially due to his drug use and other factors around that time period. But let's just be thankful that this "soul ballad" came out and came to life. You can read the interview with Keith Richards from Esquire Magazine here.
I hope you enjoyed today's #waybackwednesday!
Sincerely,
Ilsa Ione

I remember when this came out. Some Girls was the soundtrack for that summer of 78. It was everywhere. I even went to their show at Anaheim Stadium with Peter Tosh. I would go back in a second
That sounds amazing. I know a lady who is going in the Spring to one of their concerts in Jacksonville. So envious! I bet it was a blast.
Great song! It's amazing how certain tunes can do that to us huh?
Exactly. I actually did a blog post in a letter format to him last night. I'm not usually one to open up about my personal life much on here yet, but I'm working on it. :)
