I don't get it either. On a purely objective level, I'll say it's far from the worst kids' show and I get that it tends to have good messages for kids. And I'm glad that boys (and even men) are more free to show interest in such things without ridicule or getting one's butt kicked (like when I was growing up in the 80's and 90's). But even putting aside societal and gender expectations, the appeal of the show just eludes me. But then I totally didn't get the appeal of the Power Rangers show in the 90's either.

That said, this comic story arc is almost certain to poke some (good-natured) fun at Bronies in the future. 😁
