My Launch Prep for Product Hunt: Seeking Your Suggestions

in #webscraper3 months ago

Hey Indie Hackers,

I'm gearing up for a big product launch on Product Hunt and wanted to share my preparation process. I've read various articles and put together a plan, but I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions to ensure I cover all the bases.

The big day is arriving. I'm both scared and excited, knowing I need to nail it, but perfection paralysis is kicking in. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. Plan (in advance): I started my preparations well ahead of time to avoid last-minute stress.
  2. Start giving value: I've been active on social media and Slack communities, helping people and building relationships.
  3. Analyze competitors and the platform: I’ve studied other successful launches similar to my product. I’ve also identified key upvoters and started engaging with them on Twitter.
  4. Build assets: All my launch day materials are ready. There should be absolutely zero guessing on the day of the launch.

  1. Schedule the launch for 12:01 AM: This gives me the best chance to reach the top.
  2. Outreach: I plan to DM relevant people who have upvoted similar products and ask friends and community members to support and provide feedback.

BESY DAY TO LAUNCH

  • Monday: Often avoided as people are busy with meetings.
  • Tuesday: Most competitive with a lot of traffic, but harder to rank top.
  • Wednesday: Competitive and hard to make the top 5 but loads of traffic.
  • Thursday: Competitive but less so than Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Friday: Less traffic but also less competitive, great for ranking in the top 3.
  • Saturday & Sunday: Low traffic, dominated by small indie projects, resources, meme products, and beta launches.

From various times and days to upload, finally, I chose Friday to do MrScraper's launch.

I hope this plan covers everything, but I’d love to hear from you. Do you have any suggestions or tips to ensure a successful launch? Your insights would be invaluable!

Thanks in advance!
