Can street lights give a high like weed?
Sodium vapor lamp street lights. Have you ever witnessed the beauty of these lights?
Now at most of the places they're being replaced by white light LEDs, yet they still exist at some places.
These lamps emit a golden orange colored light. The golden colored light on the black road gives a heaven kind of feel. It is like purifying the black road with a mild pleasing soft golden tone.
In the darkness of the lonely evening the golden light just splatters on the road like a piece of art. I say it looks like a piece of art because of the darkness around it. They exist at the same time. The darkness and the golden light. It looks like a war with no noise. The light just tries to shed some light and drive away darkness to prove its existence. Meanwhile, the darkness tries to engulf every single inch of space around it like a monster to show the boundaries of its wide and dark territory before the dawn.
This whole war and proving its existence concepts hit my head while I was driving. I always get deep into such things while I'm already working on something, in this case it is driving. It is a beautiful feel. You do something subconsciously (driving) and think of something very deeply and then you realize you have already spend few hours of driving without even concentrating.
Though this might seem to be dangerous, the high feel I get is what that pulls me back into this 'day dream/deep thinking' thing every single time.
It's worth noting that sodium lights have perfect light spectrum for indoor operations. Before the advance of LED lights they were the lights of choice, and now they are being pushed out by LEDs mostly because of energy consumption.
I do agree that LED is better with efficiency, cost. But the mesmerizing effect by sodium vapor lamps cannot be compared to anything. 😅
