One of the first "social equity" dispensaries to open was Caroline's Cannabis in Uxbridge MA.
Caroline's was the 11th recreational dispensary to open in MA, and the first woman owned in New England.

pic2weedcarolines.jpeg

Even more qualifiers, Caroline's, I am told, is also the first woman owned dispensary , east of the Mississippi. Uxbridge, MA is a small town out side of Central Mass's Worcester. Uxbridge's leadership has learned to embrace the legal cannabis roll out, and are looking for it to meet the financial needs of the town.

Nearby Worcester is home to a number of colleges and is absolutely a college town, so this area is a great fit for the Cannabis shop, as it finds itself home to a number of younger professional working folks who tend to enjoy ganja. People have had thankfully shifted from drinking so much, to privately smoking weed, especially since the covid bar shutdowns, and the weed shops have exceeded all predictions of growth and are on the verge of earning the title of being a recession proof industry.

pic4weedcarolines.jpeg

Everybody knows, drinking alone is not much fun, whereas smoking weed alone may be better suited for long periods of time spent with one's self, or so it seems. In any event all of the quaranTHCeening has served to establish that weed is exceedingly popular now, more than ever before, here in Grassachusetts.

and while we are in the 60 something'th week of the NoonIgnoreMall.

pic6weedcarolines.jpeg

......Wait?!, is Target in the mall?
if so thats fine. ...... Jimmy's cell phone kiosk, not so much.

pic7weedcarolines.jpeg

Anyway Weed is getting a pass at the moment, but not so long ago, Governor Charlie Baker punched the cannabis shops in the gut with vape "over re-actions" , and then slapped the same folks around some more, having ruled recreational legal weed needed to stay home. ( btw you spelled Governedwhore wrong) ....anywho speaking of sucky

At the end of the day, I guess we cann consider ourselves fortunate here in MA, and while it's not perfect, Massachusetts has laws that allow for home grow and legal shops, as well as weed jobs and POTential opportunities for those who have the bloodshot eyes to see them.

pic10weedcarolines.jpeg

River Run Gardens has seized the day on legal weed, and now has sacks of sativa for sale in a woman owned, legal Massachusetts pot-shop, a day many thought would never come, but Ed DeSousa knew it would, and now his team is spearheading the local craft cannabis movement here in the Bay State.

pic11weedcarolines.jpeg

Caroline's is doing great, with hundreds of customers daily and
The folks nearby seem to love the store and so they've been blessed with a huge following of supporters, and are looking to expand to nearby DopeHale.

pic12weedcarolines.jpeg

I was obviously Pretty exited (the low key wiggle) to be here for this grand unveiling of River Run Gardens new Cannabis. Organic Cannabis is hard to find at this level, so their relevance in the marketplace cann not be overstated. Plus I believe in the concept of Budds from buds ..only!

pic13weedcarolines.jpeg

Ed Desousa has been a big activist in the arena for a number of years now. River Run Gardens initially applied for their license in 2016. Over the past 5 years they have been put through the ringer emotionally and financially. To say that to get to this place, here today at Caroline's, requires lots of patience is way off.

pic14weedcarolines.jpeg

Caroline's Cannabis has made the news a number of times at this point, the least of which was when international Weed Pro Snoop Dogg, famously came by and made an appearance last year, while in town for a rap concert. A Credit to the dogg, he took the time to take photos with hundreds of fans and spent some qt with the nice folks at the shop.

pic15weedcarolines.jpeg

He was in town for a show and needed some weed I guess. ...I totally get it.

pic16weedcarolines.jpeg

Caroline's Cannabis Space is very calm and inviting. It's rustic yet modern feel is well suited to this metropolitan outskirt. The available products and strain options are admittedly quite impressive. I came here specifically to support Ed 's brand but was tempted to spend all of my money on some of my favorite strains that just so happen to be here in da' house

pic17weedcarolines.jpeg

Caroline's is for(20) sure, One of the more laid back shops I've been to, everybody on deck is chilln' and it's a very clean and nice open space with lots of interesting glassware.

pic18weedcarolines.jpeg

I guess today is kind of a special day for craft cannabis as well. I for one, am here at just about 4:20 for the big release of the highly anticipated offering from River Run Gardens

Ed DeSousa and his dad, or son, depending on which one you know, are some great dudes and have made their personal story of getting into the cannabis market a bit of an open book on social media.

pic19weedcarolines.jpeg

The DeSousa's, because of their openness and willingness to make otherwise private matters public, have made it easier for many folks to wrap their head around the process of getting into the legal cannabis market.

pic20weedcarolines.jpeg

River Run has also made a practice of engaging in transparency, frequently making announcements around the successes made by their team, bragging on their talented crew members, and being very open concerning their overall philosophy, their successes, and their struggles. Ed, himself has spoken a number of times at the state house, and has regularly attended the many local cannabis community events, and is a very visual member of the cannunity.

Against all odds, the DeSousa's went all in and by way of their good attitude, determination, and willingness to take risks, have now become local leaders of the craft cannabis scene, here in the commonwealth. Ed says that he likes to support the cannabis community and to support the folks he hopes to be competing with on legal cannabis dispensary shelves, in the years to come. An interesting strategy, in this time of great uncertainty Ed has done well investing in people.

pic21weedcarolines.jpeg

He is a humble guy with big ideas, and very like-able.

pic22weedcarolines.jpeg

An easy guy to want to support, and the weed is awesome too.
