Is the Project Coral Reef - Monero announcement good for #Cryptocurrencies or #music?

I wrote about this a few days ago when the announcement came out that artists like Mariah Carey and Weezer and G-Easy are now accepting altcurrency Monero (#XMR on coinmarketcap.com) as payment for their music. As someone who has been in the music industry for 24 years and the tech industry for 10 years I don't have the same faith in either industry that did when I began. However, I do believe THESE technologies today are the game-changers of tomorrow.

Believe what you want about digital currencies, but understand that Blockchain technology (and the tangle (IOTA), and blockgraph) is and will change how all tech companies will operate in the coming decade. This one on XMR XMR Monero I've mentioned, and it is key.

Monero - a privacy-based​ digital cryptocurrency announced the launch of “Project Coral Reef.” The initiative will allow the millions of fans of some of the top musicians in the world to use Monero to purchase music and merchandise at discounted prices this holiday season.

Project Coral Reef is a Monero community-driven effort to raise awareness and generate mainstream adoption of one of the world’s top secure and private cryptocurrencies. It is the creation of Naveen Jain, a music industry veteran, serial entrepreneur, and evangelist of privacy-focused projects, and Riccardo Spagni, lead maintainer of Monero.
The announcement comes at a time when consumer information has never been more at risk, with recent cyber attacks against companies ranging from Uber to Yahoo! and Equifax.
