China Seismological Network officially confirmed that at 23:36 on the 14th, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake occurred in Wenchuan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province (30.97 degrees north latitude, 103.37 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 15 kilometers.
The earthquake caused strong tremors in Dujiangyan, and Chengdu, Deyang, and Leshan felt obvious tremors.
Towns within 20 kilometers of the epicenter were Sanjiang Town, Xuankou Town, Gengda Town, Yingxiu Town and Wolong Town. The epicenter was 26 kilometers away from Dujiangyan City, 48 kilometers away from Chongzhou City, and 76 kilometers away from Chengdu City.
