I was extremely happy to discover Steemit and believe that the future is bright for the platform. And while I joined it last week, I still believe that even the new users can do plenty of things to benefit the site. If you are like me and created your account recently, there are 2 things that I would recommend you do.

  • Create original content:

There are so many reposts here or articles that people rewrite. Instead of having something original and creative, they submit as many posts as they can, thinking it will earn them upvotes, followers, and, eventually, money. But that's not how it works. If you open "new", you will see hundreds of submissions that stay at 1 upvote. If you really want to make it, submit something that is valuable. Even if you can manage only one smart idea per week, it is still better than spamming information that is available somewhere else.

  • Share Steemit with others:

If you really care about the site, make sure to talk about it. Whether it's on the internet or real life, you want to be a messenger and be a part in spreading information. A word of mouth is one of the best techniques to get results. And more users means more content, more exposure, and you have a snowball effect in motion.

I honestly believe that Steemit will be one of the places to shape the future. So why would you not want to be part of it? And if you can make things better, start now, and reap the benefits later.
