Planting One Thousand Mangrove Trees on the Coastal Coast of Kuala Jangka.

November 22, 2020 was the most memorable moment in my life, where on that day my colleagues and colleagues from social and environmental care organizations and organizations carried out the planting of a thousand Mangrove trees on the coast of Kuala Jangka, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province - Indonesia.

This activity was attended by around hundreds of people from various elements and the surrounding community, planting mangrove trees starting from morning until noon. This activity has very important benefits, planting mangrove trees can reduce the potential for abrasion in coastal areas. Planting mangrove trees can also prevent global warming, affect climate and weather, maintain water and air quality, and develop tourism areas.

The mangrove tree planting area is carried out in the village of Jangka Alue U which is one of the villages located in the coastal area, our trip to get there from Bireuen City takes about 20 minutes by motorbike, arriving in the village to the planting location. we were forced to walk us about 500 meters to get there.

Arriving at the planting location, I and the other participants followed the brief directions given by the organizing committee, in which we were guided properly before planting. After hearing the directions, we immediately took mangrove seeds to plant them. An extraordinary sensation occurred when we had to struggle with the mud while planting mangrove seedlings, barefoot, we went straight down into the mud and some even fell because the footsteps were so heavy while in the mud.

After carrying out these activities we took a short break by eating and drinking together, a sense of kinship was felt when we gathered to share stories and experiences of life, while enjoying the cool air and sweetness of coconuts produced by the local community. The planting of mangrove trees is a momentum for all elements of society to play a role together to protect and improve the environment, mangroves or mangrove trees also function as a natural breakwater.

Before we plant mangrove trees or mangrove trees, there are a number of things that we must do first, of course, the main thing to do is to survey the planting location, carry out handling or selection of mangrove seedlings to be planted, conservation counseling and other necessary preparations.

Environmental care activities by planting mangrove trees or mangrove trees are expected to have a positive impact on the sustainability of the ecosystem function socially and economically by the surrounding community.
