SolydXK - Rock Solid Distros For Newbies To Linux
SolydX and SolydK are great user friendly distros with rock solid stability that are especially well suited for new Linux users leaving Windows https://solydxk.com/. SolydX uses the lightweight XFCE desktop enviroment which is great for older hardware, while SolydK uses the stunningly elegant KDE Plasma 5.8 desktop which is fantastic if you want a full featured desktop with ultimate configurability. Both of these are put on top of Debian 9 Stretch which is renowned for it's stability - there is no distro more stable than Debian. By the way, KDE Plasma 5.8 is fantastic - I'm amazed at how light this supposedly 'heavier' distro runs, even lighter than XFCE or Mate (370mb on cold boot) and it's been very solid and reliable(on SolydK). Look at the videos below to find out more about these great distros.
This video is a nice review for the older SolydXK 8 - although outdated it still gives a lot of info, just keep in mind that the new SolydXK 9(July 2017) is EVEN BETTER.
Excellent write!
