Microsoft improves driver work in Windows 10
Microsoft continues to improve the update system in Windows 10. Last year, it was criticized for numerous low-quality updates and the poor performance of the Windows Update system in principle.
One of the problems was the deployment of an update incompatible with drivers, which led to the malfunctioning of some PCs. After that, the corporation undertook to improve the update system.
From now on, manufacturers of hardware solutions will be able to more easily publish drivers, which will allow Microsoft to detect possible problems with them in the early stages and solve them before the start of large-scale deployment. To do this, the “Additional Updates” section has appeared in Windows Update, where driver versions for manual installation will be available.
By default, the system will install them like that, but now users will have more choices. It will also help if the PC contains some specific device.
In addition, information will be published there that describes what will be contained in Windows updates (drivers, non-security updates, and other fixes). This will prepare in advance for the upgrade.
Note that the deployment will take time, so do not be scared if the “Additional Updates” section is not yet available. You can expect the update to arrive in the coming hours or days.
