Men are from Cabernet, women are from Chardonnay

There are many myths about wine – that only red wine is suitable for aging, that corked bottles mean higher quality, that sweet wines are only for beginner palates, that larger bottles guarantee the superiority of the liquid inside. My favorite pair of myths is that expensive wine is always better and that red wine is for men while white wine is for women. Interestingly, the gender wars have also moved in the world of wine but let us face the facts. In many countries around the world, recent studies show that women consume more wine than men do, as is the case with Australia, United Kingdom and the United States.

One thing that cannot be denied is that when it comes to tasting buds women have the edge. The higher sensitivity of women for taste means that in general they dislike wines with higher level of tannins and highly acidic wines. Therefore, women tend to prefer white wines, rosés and dessert wines, but they equally enjoy red wines with lower tannin content.
Another prominent difference between men and women in regards to wine is that men prefer to brag about wine more, and therefore, they often purchase specific brands that are very highly rated by professional tasters. Women, on the other hand, see wine as a tool that eases communication and brings people together to establish stronger relationships. There is also a subconscious sense of romance that most women associate with wine, provoking good vibes and emotions at the bare sight of a glass of wine. However, men’s brain works similarly but in reverse as upon mentioning romance, wine is among the first things brought in focus.

That was very well written. I enjoyed reading it. Great title too :)

I prefer red wine it's true when the tannins do not overpower it.
