🍷🍷 TASTE TASTE TASTE 🍷🍷

The amount of wine you need to taste in order to become a successful taster is A LOT. My counter and my fridge often have an obscene amount of bottles taking up space, and most of these are tasted 3 or 4 times and then dumped down the sink.

Sad, I know.

I think that's something that a lot of people don't realize. People say to me all the time, 'you must get to drink so much wine!'. Sometimes the answer is yes but for the most part I'm not DRINKING wine, I'm TASTING it. When you're in study mode it's soooo important to be spitting out the wine. Consuming it (as much as I'd like to!) blurs judgement and my tasting notes start to suffer.

This is A-game territory.

Don't get me wrong, after a crazy stressful day of reading 📚, taking notes ✏️, and tasting 🍷 I will more than likely be sitting down and having a giant glass of wine after. If I'm reading about Madeira I may pour myself a small glass in order to better connect with what I'm reading. There's a lot of give and take and ultimately it's all about balance.

Class last week included a lot of tasting and ended with a mock tasting exam under timed conditions - not intimidating at all 😵

Here were some of the wines...

mmmmMm so many types of wine, and sooo many different flavors! 🤤🍷

I love wine, it hurts that I do not have the necessary knowledge to know how to taste it as it should, by the way, do not your friends ask you to give them the wine that is left over? hahah bye greetings
