I’ve been pulling a list of witnesses. I’ve been pulling them 1000 at a time.
I’m on page 4, alphabetically, in amongst the 3000-4000th witness.

I’m a bit stunned by that.
I should have piped the whole list into wc to get the full count but I was too agog.
The system will be occasionally pinging the huge list to see who is alive and one day it might hit me.
One day…… this year?
Well we will see how long it takes.
You can give me a witness vote if you like, but from the zero upvotes I’m getting on my posts, I guess hardly anyone is seeing my stuff, so I’m not banking on much in the way of a boost.
I think its going to be a long, long wait to get even a single block.
Ill keep you posted as I find out more.

Thanks for this. Yes Im going to report the facts and what it feels like. There seems to be a bit of a vacuum on the witness experience, so hopefully it will help newbies like me.

I screen this channel for mistags, under-noticed posts, and easy questions (ect) as what I see as a part of my role as minnow support project greeter and steemizen
Hey man im a newbie witness myself :) started about a week ago,and only started getting blocks 3 days ago....the technique is to be actively busy commenting and chatting with everyone :D The big guys with the big votes will notice a very active user alot faster ;) Just keep on being busy and youll get there
I know the idea, but this is really POS v POW. My miners just make me money.... i like the robot hoard! :) ...but this kissy-kissy is expensive and the site is so winner takes it all that I'm left wondering.... but its a journey and I'm in it for that.
BTW I hope you are right about a few days. I've seen your witness in the queue, it will be interesting to see when mine appears.
