wow another long post. It does takes a while to read and comprehend (omg I am getting old my dear boy) but it is true that your introduction does play a large role when joining because if it sounds and looks uninteresting, how can you catch the eye of a dolphin or whale (did I catch yours? lol) But I still go on learning day by day/ I like the new way the page looks?
