Thriving through a Symbiotic Equilibrium
Symbiont{s} | Public Service Announcement | SteemAuto

Greetings,

It has come to light lately the service that was initially developed by @mahdiyari and then picked up by the former witnesses @steem-supporter has been maliciously used by its late PO by allowing himself to temper with the database and use people's keys without their direct consent to gain monetary profit for himself and close circle. Such facts are not based on assumptions but on a direct revelation from the PO himself which we find truly unfortunate considering the potential growth and status that he had. The PO ended his journey by racially insulting the Italian community for bringing some facts related to tempering to light. (Ref.1)

This is why we highly advise users to revoke their posting authority to @steemauto.app by using this link, or by directly going to Steem World. We believe that this once again demonstrates how capitalizing on a tool can be weaponized, it also shows us the importance of always having alternatives to break the monopoly.

The only current available curation tool is currently maintained by the witness @italygame. The service can be accessed by directly going to the Steem-Fanbase website.

This, of course, does not solve the issue of not having more alternatives, this is why we are seriously thinking about potentially providing another similar service for more redundancy.

To end with, what happened has demonstrated that there are more vectors from which the Steem blockchain can be attacked, it is something that we believe should be taken very seriously and discussed.

The Symbionts Team,

I want to thank you for the amazing work of support and analysis you did in this tricky situation. Not easy and not for everyone, just for a great witness.

I never had trouble with SteemAuto myself, but if this really happened like described, then it is utterly bad. I hope there will be some more tools added soon in addition to the Steem-Fanbase tool, but until then, I guess I will have to take a closer look at that tool! :)

Such a tremendous work effort done to maintain the balance and exposed the wrong doings in the steem blockchain. Huge thanks!
