Comparing Millennial Performance To Older Generations

The manner in which the millennial generation has come of age has had a profound effect on the way in which they perform on the job in more ways than one. Though there may be some areas in which those older generations may hold some skepticism, there are objective reasons to be optimistic about the performance capacity of millennials as they continually occupy a growing proportion of the workforce.
As more millennials inherit places of a higher authority in their places of employment, their familiarity with the world's transition into technological supremacy will become ever more manifest. The following are just a few of the ways that the millennial generation can and will continue to perform better than the older generations in their own way.
Technological Fluidity
While the older generations have had ample time to adapt to modern technological solutions, the younger end of the millennial generation will be the first to truly inherit the technology-transformed landscape that continues to form the world as we know it. Even traditional companies like KMart have a strong digital presence and have adopted new technology such as SaaS solutions or employee portals.
While not immersed in the internet to the point of being unfamiliar with any kind of world outside of it, millennials are still entirely familiar with how to seamlessly integrate the most innovative resources of digital solutions into their workflow.
The ability to productively juggle priorities
Being able to take on more than one task certainly isn't something that the millennial generation completely owns, but the development of high-technical multitasking solutions has given this generation a particularly powerful ability to juggle tasks as a natural flow of operations.
Born late enough to seamlessly adapt into the explosion of productivity solutions made available to the public in their formative years (but not so late that they're incapable of operating without them), millennials have a unique affinity for managing the conveniences offered to them with improved multitasking solutions without necessarily having to rely on them. Millennials are intimately aware of both the power and limitations of the tools at their disposal to help them take care of multiple things at once, and thanks to this experience, they've grown naturally adept at efficient energy allocation for tasks of differing priority levels.
Career adjustment initiative
Despite the stereotype of an unemployed millennial struggling to find their way , the millennials' attitudes towards their careers are far from unambitious. Thanks in part to a job market that rewards flexibility but punishes complacency with growing frequency, millennials have grown up with both the will and strategy development skills to keep their career opportunities open and take advantage of new opportunities promptly whenever they become apparent.
Though there are certainly millennials that favor certain employment posts more than others, the majority of career-focused millennials are focused on ensuring that they have avenues of egress to more promising opportunities at every turn.
Millennials can devote themselves to a wide range of tasks within the sphere of their place of employment efficiently, but even in the event that their post becomes jeopardized due to downsizing, they've been conditioned to have contingency plans on standby at all times. Millennials have witnessed the pain of complacency firsthand, and with a resolve not to suffer the same fate, they've made a culture out of keeping the light of new hope for new employment ever-shining at all times.
Willingness and ability to alter standing business models
Because they're all too familiar with the fleeting nature of modern corporate employment, millennials are naturally inclined not only to adjust their place of business but also to challenge those very businesses themselves.
Armed with complete access to alternative employment opportunities and familiarity with the power of online crowdsourcing, the millennial generation is a constructively reformative force. Millennials see the strings holding standing businesses upright and are willing to take new approaches to adjusting these businesses' "posture".
In a sense, millennials have taken on the role of filtering the traditional elements of the corporate world into a new form that stands in a brand-new dimension of business in the future. Between the largely analog older generation and the entirely mechanized generation following them, millennials act as discretionary gatekeepers of what parts of old corporate structures can move onto in a period of exponential change.
More educationally well-rounded
If millennials could possibly be described in the simplest definition that distinguishes them as a generation, a worthy title would be "the information seekers". Having come into an age of unprecedented free access to data and independently published knowledge, millennials have gained an appreciation for the privilege to challenge previously established schools of thought and seek out clarification on their own terms.
In addition to a fundamentally higher level of drive to discover what lies between the lines, millennials are objectively the most educationally decorated generation to date. The number of bachelor's degrees and master's degrees awarded on an annual has increased every year for nearly two decades now.
