Pratfall Effect

In this research of the University of California psychologist Elliot Aronson, students are asked a number of questions and their answers are recorded.

Some of the students are answering the questions in a normal way, the other part is answering the questions while pouring their coffee, making pronunciation mistakes. Afterwards, Aronson asks the audience to listen to a group of volunteers and asks the audience which people they like more.

The results show that the group that made the mistake is more internal and natural. The Pratfall Effect briefly mentions that people find you more charming if you are not perfect.
