Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in a press interview gave two reasons why Nigeria will find it difficult to win the 2018 ongoing World Cup, his statement has nothing to do with first leg performance against Croatia.

The experienced French coach lead emphasis on the age of the plays especially the defenders.

He said that the average age of World Cup winning teams is 28 years,2.1 years more than the average age of the youngest squad in Russia, Nigeria, and successful teams must have experienced defenders.

For Nigeria team the average age of their starting back Shehu, Balogun, Troost-Ekong and Idowu is 26 years, only the Brighton newbie who is 29 years old.

After Nigeria another team that have young players is team France with an average age of 26 years, just a little bit behind Nigeria, and Wenger was asked how this will affect the team.

He told Ouest France, that looking at the age of the player their shouldn't be more expectance because of limited experience. He added that nations who has won World cup have the average players aged 27-28 year old.

He added that younger player can perform well but it not advice when it come to defending using such players at the world cup.

For Nigeria lost to Croatia has been blamed on the two young players aged 25, Oghenekaro Etebo and Troost-Ekong.

Lol.. Nice write up.. But I don't believe what winger said.. We can prove a point

This is football!, anything is so possible just like when Leicester won the premiership when no one expected

To be honest, Nigeris doesn't really stand a chance at the world cup. No need for hope 😂

I the words of James Franco "They say living well is the best revenge but sometimes writing well is even better."
