The bifurcated seat will hear PTI's plea seeking political race date for KP Meet.
The Chief Secretary submits the answer to the court.
The court is coordinating the principal representative of the ECP to submit the reply by Thursday.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday sought mixed responses from the Racial Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Representative Haji Ghulam Ali regarding the date of general rulings in the area.

A bifurcated bench comprising Equity Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Equity Syed Muhammad Attique Shah heard a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking date for polls in KP Get together.

Additionally, PTI pioneers Azam Swati, Asad Qaiser, Shibli Faraz and Shah Farman appeared in the court. The PTI submitted an application to the court stating that the races should be held within 90 days of the dissolution of the assembly.

During the conference, the court asked why the chief deputy had not yet announced the date of the races.

To this, the KP General Promoter said that the leader has the ability and energy to give a decision date according to the Constitution, adding that the Chief Secretary has submitted a response today.

To this, Equity Ali asked Principal Representative Ali to submit a composite reply by Thursday in light of the letter sent to him by the constituent body seeking a date for the polls.

The Supreme Court then asked if the ECP was not given the date today.

A legal adviser told PTI that the attorney general is not giving a date and is only rationalizing.

After the notification, the court ended the proceedings until Thursday.

ECP seeks date for political race
The ECP has sent a letter to the Joint Chief Representative proposing dates for the Assembly's decision between April 14 and 17. In any case, Senior Representative Ali informed the electoral body that it should give the dates of actual decisions in the conference with all partners while keeping in mind the prevailing security and monetary conditions of the country.

The KP leader urged the ECP to "advise and take stock" of ideological groups and the police (LEA) before fixing the date of the polls.

“Given the troubling circumstances of the rule of law and order in the territory and the series of psychological attacks by the oppressors during the previous days, it would be prudent that before fixing the date of overall decisions, the Pakistan Political Decision Commission should advise and take into confidence the relevant institutions/LEAs as well as ideological groups to the leadership of the general races in a just, free and peaceful manner in the region has been guaranteed,” the leader said in a letter sent by Boss Sikander King Raja political race chief.

The leader was of the view that law and order conditions were deteriorating in KP and hinted at postponing the polls.

The leader said, “The 400 ancient ancestors mentioned to him that the races should be held after three to four months.

"In the event that the region demands that the statistics be followed first, or the knowledge offices encourage postponing races, how could decisions be made?" he added.

Alluding to the fear attacks on police and growing psychological warfare in the area, the leader asked if races could be held in Waziristan, Bannu and Lakki Marwat.

He further added that the issue of peace and law should be addressed before the joint polls.
