The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday fined Peshawar Zalmi for maintaining a late overrated rate during their match against Karachi Rulers at the Public Bank Cricket Ground.

PZ vs KK: Babar Azams group punished for late overs against Karachi Rulers
"Peshawar Zalmi managed to avoid their target too much for match referee Ali Naqvi, who was thinking about time stipends before appearing for selection," the PCB said in a statement.

The PCB said that each player will be fined 10% of their match expenses in accordance with Article 2.22 of the PSL Rules of Procedure for Players and Players' Entourage.

Match report
During Tuesday's match, Zalmi crushed Lords by two runs to start their PSL crusade.

Batting first, Peshawar posted a monstrous 199 runs up the scoreboard before restricting the home side to 197-5 from 20 overs, thanks to Cadmore's excellent batting and a fine bowling display from the bowlers.

Captain Imad Wasim and Shoaib Malik sparkled as Karachi got back into the game.

In any case, Khurram adjusted to the situation and redeemed his commander Babar's confidence by striking a celestial last that controlled the match for his side.

In the last over, requiring 16 off six balls, Khurram got going with a very well-placed wide yorker that offered one run.

The next ball was also a virtually immaculate yorker which also cost a run.

Khurram bowled the ball for the third over, apart from delivering a decent delivery at the free. The right-arm bowler kept his composure to bowl the next two deliveries in large areas to protect the aggregate and not let Imad and Ben Cutting arrive at the aggregate.
