As I have a large garden, besides the flowers and plants that I grow, a multitude of other plants grow out of nowhere....
Today I chose from my garden: Aristolochia clematitis L. - Birthwort - Marul Lupului, although it has an unpleasant smell.
Birthwort, is an herb with yellow flowers, that was once highly regarded in traditional Chinese medicine but is widely used in phytotherapy in Romania.
It is considered one of the most toxic plants. For this reason, the internal use of the plant is not recommended.
However, it is included in phytotherapeutic preparations for external use, with excellent effects, especially on the skin. This is due to the active compounds:
Aristolochin (an alkaloid),
Clematitină,
Tannins,
Essential oils,
Resins,
Alantoin, etc.
I often buy ointments with Birthwort for my father. He has problems with varicose veins and some time ago he had a thrombophlebitis. Besides the treatments recommended by a physician, he has successfully used these Birthwort-based ointments and he still use it.
It is used successfully in affections like: varicose ulcers, hemorrhoids, itching, shingles, psoriasis, etc.
You can find more details here (Romanian language),

All the best,
didutza
I know this plant... is highly poisonous and it's a controversial medicinal plant with strong side effects. It is supposed to be the cause of Danubian endemic familial nephropathy.
Yes, you are right! Year ago, there was some ontological problem in my family and someone recommend to use tea from this plant but, we didn’t. I knew from that time that it is poisonous.
@didutza you were flagged by a worthless gang of trolls, so, I gave you an upvote to counteract it! Enjoy!!
