Worship the wise God: You are good to everyone, and you take care of all your creation. Psalm 145:9

in #worship14 days ago

The Psalm 145 is a Psalm of praise that shows the God of Israel as a wise, kind and omnipotent being, and who manifests himself in the creation as King and sovereign because all things are subject to him; God is a pure spirit and is the source of all the perfections of the universe.
It is then up to the sensible man to worship God because only he can secure true blessings for man.
This is why the song begins with these beautiful words:
"I will praise you,
my God and King,
and always honor your name.
I will praise you each day
and always honor your name.
You are wonderful, LORD,
and you deserve all praise,
because you are much greater
than anyone can understand" Psalm 145:1-3.
And then the Psalm continues explaining that God pours out his gifts to men, and that he allows himself to be found by those who seek him:
"You are merciful, LORD!
You are kind and patient
and always loving.
You are good to everyone,
and you take care
of all your creation" Psalm 145:8-9.
And after this the Psalm praises God for something very important for the Christian faith, his eternal and immovable Kingdom. A Kingdom that cannot be said to be here or there because first of all this Kingdom is in the hearts and minds of men. The Psalm in this sense is also making mention here of the promise made to David through the prophet Nathan. That is why the Psalm can also be considered a prophetic text and not only wisdom because it anticipated the arrival of the Lord Jesus.
With these words the psalm anticipated Jesus and his mission in the world, to bear witness to God, worship him, and save the world:
"Everyone will know about
the mighty things you do
and your glorious kingdom.
Your kingdom will never end,
and you will rule forever" Psalm 145:12-13.
