Kane (wwe) is the mayor of a major USA county now

You might remember Kane as the "Big Red Machine" and well, to be truthful, that is what i remember him as.... as do most of the people who voted for him as Mayor of Knox, Tennessee. This isn't a bad thing, unless you think politics should always be run by politicians.

Kane's real name is Glenn Jacobs. No, he is not really the younger brother of the Undertaker. He is a conservative and he is from Tennessee, and after living a very successful life as a WWE superstar he decided to try his hand at politics back in his home state.

Glenn is most oriented with libertarians, and while that is not at all a factor when running for mayor one of the things that people need to understand is that if he does this job well, there is a very good chance that he could follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger. The fame does carry with the person and in Kane's situation, it is pretty difficult to argue that he definitely would not be in a position to win this mayoral election if he had not been in the WWE.

In my mind it doesn't matter if he became famous because of choke slamming people or if he became famous because of doing wonderful legislation. I do know that the former brings people to the foreground far faster than the latter.

If Glenn Jacobs can run Knox County in an efficient manor, then I don't care that he was propelled to that position by being the first pro wrestler to have fireworks shot out of the four corners of the square-circle

i really don't care.

I sincerely hope that he is actually concerned about the people of Knox. Based on what i know about politicians and what i know about wrestlers (which isn't much, on either side,) I would honestly trust the Big Red Machine (Kane) before I would take some bought-and-paid-for politician.

Perhaps that is why Kane won by nearly 40%

I stuck Paul Bearer in there just because well, he is awesome, talk about him for bonus points

Haha wow I did not know or expect this! Well... I can’t say I’m overly surprised in some ways 😂

Hahah Paul bearer was so funny, me and my mate pat used to always crack up with how he would hold the urn! “Ohhh yesss!” Haha! RIP!

you get full upvote just for knowing about the urn. I hope that you can remember the way that Paul used to say "huuuulk hooogan" with the urn in his hands. Unfortunately Paul's real name was William Moody (that isn't unfortunate - 'tis just a fact) and he died in 2013. Shame. He was one of the best side-acts in wrestling ever.

Glenn Jacobs, formerly Kane of the WWE, is now mayor of Knox County, Tennessee . Still, many question whether he's qualified to run an entire county. His supporters love that Jacobs has a history of dealing with egos in professional wrestling, and were won over by Jacobs' embrace of low taxes and limited government. Still, running a county is completely different than what he has done in the ring, or as an insurer after his WWE career. Politicians can't be trusted anymore. Every week, there seems to be the threat of a government shutdown or more inaction. At least Glenn Jacobs brings a breath of fresh air.

He may not have the traditional track record for political office, but maybe that's what politics needs these days. Someone who has seen life in every American city and can take the best parts of our culture. And if diplomacy doesn't work, a nice chokeslam to get things moving shouldn't hurt. Kane is as qualified as anyone to be a mayor.

Everything about this was PERFECT. The silence of the crowd as the lights go out and the titantrons show essentially nothing. Paul Bearer walks out without any music, and the crowd realizes who he is... then Kane's music starts, that epic church organ, and the crowd EXPLODES... THEN Kane appears as the pyro goes up and walks menacingly to the ring, JR losing his mind... steps up on the apron and glares at the men there, then DESTROYS them all... The hang time on Saturn... Holy COW, this was amazing.

I remember those days, man. Kane was the best monster heel of his generation. The best kane moment in history that pop was absolutely amazing I've never heard another pop

Actually I'm pleased with it.
I'd love to see the entry of more non-archetypal politicians into politics, who can challenge the system and bring about new ways of doing things.

Kane has been a celebrity, he probably understands fans and might know how to relate with common people

Hiii... Gooddream

Good Afternoon.
Great Post, I also like Wwe.
But, i like johncena...

Wooaa, surprised to see a blog about WWE, I was a big fan of it in my childhood. Interestingly I used to consider all of them as fictional characters and always used to believe that undertaker can die and take rebirth again and again, and I remember Kane defeated him. although I am happy to know that he has stepped in politics of the country.

Well if they chose it they saw something good in it, I hope it does not disappoint its constituents. May he do much for his state as he did with his struggles

Quite agree, sometimes the non professional politicians get more done as they care. It is not a job to them but more of a calling.

All the best statesmen are in the WWE hall of fame.
