Bestseller 2018 - "The woman in the window", A. J. Finn
The book of the American writer A.J. Finn (Daniel Mallory) is a debut novel about which the great Stephen King said that this is one of those rare books that really excite. The work is about a woman, a child psychologist suffering from mental illness agarophobia. She became mentally ill after a terrible tragedy in her life.
The walls of the house of Anna Fox (the name of the main character) became a real dungeon for her. She communicates with her relatives only by phone, and there is no one who could provide real support to the unhappy woman and help her in her problem. Anna watches old movies, talks on forums on the Internet and often allows herself to drink a glass of wine. But her favorite occupation was watching neighbors.
Once, with the help of her digital camera, a woman sees a family, a mother, a father and a teenage son, entering the house, located across the square from her house. At first sight these people seem happy and contented with life. But is it really so? One day, Anna's life becomes like a thriller, she witnesses a terrible crime. But wherever a woman goes, nobody believes her: neither her husband nor the police. Maybe it was played out by her imagination or the affected psyche creates unrealistic pictures? Anna will have to figure this out.
This is an excellent psychological detective with elements of sapiens. The book is written well, the author clearly knows what moments should be in the text, attract a large number of readers. Although several acute nuances have been encountered earlier in other bestsellers: an unreliable witness (due to alcoholism), a tragedy in the past, agoraphobia, a suspicious family in the neighborhood, a charming psychopath that you can not distinguish from a normal person. Mysteries in the novel are enough, and each of them makes you stay with the story until the end.
